THE MESSAGE
HOWW - taking physical nutrition and the gospel of Jesus
Christ to oppressed widows, single mothers and hungry
children in Central America, and beyond...spreading the
Message of Salvation, Freedom and HOPE !
Going into 2008, the ministry has
grown exponentially! 55 pastors and
lay workers from a variety of churches
and evangelical denominations were
serving almost 2000 needy children
from the poorest neighborhoods in and
around Guatemala City. HOWW
ministries is channeling precious
contributions from caring givers in the
United States for this critical cause.

More than a nutritional ministry though,
HOWW has developed a
"ADVENTURES THROUGH THE
BIBLE" program designed for small
children to understand and enjoy. As
the volunteers minister to the children
in the feeding circles, the Gospel of
Jesus Christ is taught, giving them an
opportunity to give their open hearts to
Him and become true disciples of
His Word.
In early 2003, Phil and Marianne
Nelson felt a great burden and calling
of the Lord to feed a handful of needy
children in the Guajitos sector of
Guatemala City. This Texas couple
had adopted two of their three children
in Guatemala many years before, and
wanted to reach out to their adopted
children's biological siblings, still living
in poverty in Guatemala. Many of
these little ones die of disease or
mal-nutrition because their mothers
just can't feed them.
Thus, the simple beginning of HOWW
ministries.
Through many of the children from the
feeding program, pastors have been
able to reach otherwise hardened and
bitter parents and relatives for Jesus!
HOWW envisions the transformation of
families and entire communities with
"fruit that remains", as God's Word
says in Proverbs 22:6, "Train up a
child in the way he should go, and...he
will not depart from it".

Guatemala has been ravaged by
vicious gang violence, usually
attributable to broken and
poverty-stricken homes with children
left to fend for themselves!
HOWW ministries is there, doing all
that God directs to make a lasting
difference in the hearts of the lost
and hurting.
